Become a Star

Many aspiring artists are interested in learning what it takes to become a star. What classes do they have to take, what auditions do they have to go to, and where do they get signed? First of all, it takes a lot of determination, which one must already have plenty of if they think that wanting it and trying hard enough is all that it takes. Anybody can sing, or dance, or create but its another thing to do these activities well. To become a star, it takes some degree of talentthe X Factor, as some would put it. Some people just have that extra something that can take them far, and its something that theyre born with, not something that was gained. The formula for a star is a combination of skill and ambition, which is why some contestants on American Idol make it and a whole episode of the show is dedicated to those who dont.

However, some would argue that in the age of manufactured pop, artists dont have to be talented anymoresongwriters, studio doctoring and good looks will do the trick. And there are hundreds of signed artists out there, some that many havent even heard of, which seems to suggest that becoming a star isnt as hard as people might make it out to be. But even so, a star by definition is famous and if people havent heard of those artists, they cant really be considered stars. And its true that many artists ride on their physical appearance, but its not like seeing a pretty face out there is such a rare occurence. Artists still have to have stage presence or some sort of charisma, and that kind of thing is usually innate.

Maybe its not so much that you need the X Factor to become a star, as it is that you need the X Factor to be made into a star.

Another way to become a star is to become a constellation, if youre talking about the other kind. Constellation status is typically reserved for legendary characters, many of whom are stars themselves in the famous and heroic sense. Theres Orion, and Hercules, the Hydra he conquered, Callisto in the form of Ursa Major, and countless other players in the Greek myths. Unfortunately, there arent any current vacancies in the sky but its possible to apply for a position many, many centuries from now.
