Must Have Hand Tools

Hand tools are not just for men and/or construction workers. There are some that are great to have in your home no matter who you are, who you live with, or how well you are at fixing things on your own. The section at any store with these tools can seem quite intimidating if you do not know much about these tools and what they can do. There are always people that you can call when something goes wrong or when you need something done, but why spend money on this when you can easily do some things on your own with the right tool and a little know how?

It is just as easy for a woman to use hand tools as it is for any man, as long as they have some confidence in themselves. Some can be a bit heavy and hard to manage at first, but all women should know how to use a few basic hand tools and should have them in the home. Some are just for convenience, and others are for when something may go wrong. Men who rarely use tools should also get accustomed to a few select tools that they too should have in the house for when they need them.

One of the most commonly used hand tools would be the screw gun. These are used when you would normally use a screw driver but make thing so much easier and faster. Most people have screw drivers in their homes that they use for minor repairs and for things like hanging shelves and artwork. Anyone can easily learn to use a screw gun and it makes all simple repairs even easier and when it comes to hanging things around the home, the screw gun can be a life saver. Some screw guns are bigger than others, so ask for help when choosing one. You do not need a commercial grade gun at home if you think something smaller would do.

The hammer is another of the many hand tools that everyone should have in their home. Like screw guns, hammers are really handy to have around the house. Unlike the screw gun, however, they do not require power or batteries to work. Hammers come in handy for hanging things in the home that would better be hung with nails rather than screws, and can fix broken items made of wood. You may find that your hammer is used for many things you would never associate with a hammer, but you will be glad to have it for all those reasons. There are a few different types out there so get at least one to have in your home.

The other hand tools that you may want to have in your home may depend on your needs. You may have to buy them as the need arises, or you could get a kit made for the home. Whatever the case, wouldn't it be nice to know that you own and can use all of the hand tools that may come in handy when you have small problems at home? That saves you money, and you do not have to wait for someone to have the time to come help you.
