Protect Your Home with a DVR Security System

I like to think that I live in a pretty nice neighborhood, but you just never know when something bad might happen. Whenever I get the weekly community newspaper, I see a bunch of break-ins and robberies listed on the police report pages, and can't help but worry about similar occurrences at my own home. I simply can't afford to take any chances when it comes to safety, especially since I have young children in the house. That's why I recently purchased a DVR security system.

This DVR security system is a high-tech state-of-the-art method of monitoring both the interior and exterior of my home. The package I bought included four cameras, so I decided to set one up at the front of my property, one in the rear, and two inside the house. I fiddled with camera placement for a long time, and decided that the current locations give me the best coverage. It's not complete by any means, but someone would have a hard time remaining undetected while on my land.

The reason I chose to buy a DVR security system over a cheaper one is the way that I'm able to monitor the feed from all four cameras from wherever I am. All it takes is an Internet connection and some special software that was included in the box in order for me to accomplish this. That means that as long as I have my laptop with me, I can see exactly what's happening on my property at any time of the day or night. This is perfect for when I'm on business trips or extended vacations, or when I've left my kids with a sitter. In fact, I have to say that my new DVR security system has already paid for itself in terms of the peace of mind I've had since installing it!

Another great feature of my DVR security system is that it doesn't require tapes of any kind. The unit came with a 160GB hard drive, which is enough capacity to store nearly 150 days of continuous footage. That's simply amazing, if you ask me! Plus, since all the data is digitized, it's easy to download and transfer video snippets to my computer for safekeeping. Scanning through the digital footage is a breeze as well, particularly with the date and time search functions on the DVR security system.

If you are worried about being able to monitor and protect your home or business, then I recommend getting a DVR security system. These products are relatively affordable, easy to install and use, and are always accessible via the Internet. Wouldn't you feel better knowing that you can check in on your property and your family any time you feel like it? It's the next best thing to having a live guard on the premises!
