Choosing Baby Nursery Lighting

You can use an overhead light for your nursery and be done with it, but there are some problems with this solution. For one, it will wake your baby up completely at night when a diaper change or feeding is needed, making it hard for them to tell the difference between night and day. This light can be harsh on your eyes as well. You can use natural light from the window in the day and a nightlight at night, but there are disadvantages to that as well. Nightlights have been used for baby nursery lighting for a long time with good reason. They help you see without flipping on a harsh light at night, and they can help calm a baby or toddler who wakes up in the middle of the night. Having a nightlight in the nursery is great, but you may want to have two of them if it is a large room, and you should also have a few in hallways and on stairs so you never have to fumble with lights in the middle of the night. There are many options for baby nursery lighting and choosing the best one is important. However, you have to choose the right bulbs as well. If you have an overhead light, use energy efficient lights. However, for those soft lights, these can be a bit too harsh on young baby's eyes. Choose something made for a soft glow and to be gentle on the eyes. You can switch over the more energy efficient bulbs when the baby is a bit older. You may want to get some of the same bulbs for other areas where your infant spends a lot of time, just for a short while.
