Article Submission Why its Important

Todays internet market is all about placement, where your site comes up in a search engine. There are a lot of ways to make sure that this happens, some good, some bad some cheap and some not so cheap. A lot of webmasters are now looking to articles and article submission to help them achieve this particular goal.

This works by having an article written about your particular keyword or key phrase describing something about it, which when sent to an article directory site it will appear in search engine results, giving your site both a direct link back to you for free, and with embedded links in the article or the full article hosted on your site only, you can dramatically improve your search engine rankings with very little cost involved.

It sounds simple enough, but article submission is by no means that easy a thing to achieve. There are many, many directories out there, but you do need to target those that are both relevant, and have a page ranking that will help your site. Not much point in having your article on a New Zealand directory if you only sell your product in the U.K. for example. Likewise theres no need for your article about wedding dresses you sell appearing in a tech directory. You simply wont get relevant traffic, if you get any at all.

Making it (article submission) relevant to your particular niche is all important, but there is help at hand for that. Most articles get submitted through service providers, and the good ones allow you to choose where your article will appear. True, there may well be a cost involved in this, but for the results you will get its well worth it. If, on the other hand, you prefer to be exact about it, most directories and listing sites will allow manual submission to their specific areas, which in itself can be a boon for you, but remember that this all takes time so you do need to look at it carefully before starting and know exactly what you intend to do.

A good idea is to do a trial run with a single article in 2 or 3 directories that allow you to gauge the response that your submitted article gets. This will allow you to tweak both the type of articles you want, and where to put them. While not totally foolproof article submission is a great way to get traffic to your site, and it allows for better conversions as the prospect already has information on your offering and will be more inclined to be a convert than a click thru.
