For cool weather jogging and workouts, velour sweatsuits make good

For cool weather jogging and workouts, velour sweatsuits make good sense!

Gone are the days when just any old pair of gym shorts or sweatpants makes the grade for your exercise regimen ... particularly in public! If nothing else, we are becoming a more fashion-conscious society. This phenomenon isn't limited to young people. The gray-haired set also welcome more stylish wear for casual occasions (like grocery shopping), as well as exercising. Velour sweatsuits are a case in point. Who would rather wear the less attractive, bulky style of sweatsuit, when they could have soft, comfortable, warm and easily laundered velour sweatsuits just as easily?

While there may still be a contingent of die-hard, macho-conscious men who'd prefer the heavy old style of sweatsuit, most men wouldn't balk at wearing, and being seen in something a little more comfortable and easier care. Even though men are generally more conservative in the colors they prefer, they realize that a black or navy soft sweatsuit looks more attractive with the ladies. For women, this new iteration on sweatsuits allows them to look quite fashionable, for casual, cool-weather wear.

For one thing, a synthetic fabric, such as velour, is lightweight and good-looking. Even a rigorous workout doesn't leave you looking and feeling like your next stop should be the locker room, a change of clothes and a hot shower. A good antiperspirant should cover the bases of hygienic acceptability, at least until you get home!

Another practical advantage of the velour sweatsuits is that you won't become overheated going from the cool outdoors into, say, the mall. Besides, wouldn't you rather conduct your errands with an attractive appearance? Let's face it, the old, heavy cotton sweatsuits look frumpy, as though you just couldn't be troubled to change your clothes after your jogging routine.

Even the soft feel of velour sweatsuits gives you a psychological lift. Both men and women feel just a little more well dressed even sexy in this dual purpose garment. Yes, you can wear it for a workout and then answer the door to an unexpected guest without cringing!

As for laundering, it's a breeze. Try getting more than one cotton sweatsuit in the washer with that load of towels! Also, consider what the average cotton sweatsuit looks like after a few months of wear. The hot wash water and hot dryer takes its toll on both the garment and your electric bill! Not to mention stains that contribute to a less than nice appearance.

With all of these practical and fashion pluses, don't you think velour sweatsuits belong in your closet? I'd say so.
