It is My Dream to Play The Price is Right

Of all of the game shows I have ever watched, I would have to say that The Price is Right is my favorite. I love watching people bid on the items, I love watching them spin the big wheel; I just really love everything about the show. My dream is actually to one day play The Price is Right.

I started watching the show when I was just a kid and quickly became hooked. I would make sure that every day it was on during the summer, I was up in time to watch. It really bothered me when the school year started back up, because I would not get to watch it as often.

I remember thinking how cool Bob Barker was. It seemed like he never changed, and he was always so charismatic with all of the guests. I always liked that he would end his show by asking people to control the pet population and to spay or neuter their pets. I had no idea what that meant at the time, but because Bob Barker said it, I asked my father if we could spay or neuter our dog. He gave me the strangest look.

I also loved the girls on the show who would show off the various prizes. I think that was when I developed my first crush as a young boy, and I used to wonder if when I grew up, I could marry one of the women on the show. I asked my mom if that might happen, and she just laughed.

I had always wanted to play The Price is Right as an actual contestant on the show. I did not know if that would ever be possible, but I figured that the show had to draw its contestants from somewhere, so why not me.

My friend, Shawn, and I would talk about having the opportunity to play The Price is Right one day and what we would hope to win. For us, the most exciting thing was when a person either won a new car, or got within $100 of the actual bid at the end of the show, and one both prize packages.

I remember that we would watch The Price is Right and try to study the different products and see if we could guess their value. We would high five when we got really close and feel like we really had a chance if we could figure out how to get on the show.

I never did get to play The Price is Right, but I still love to watch the show and play along from home. I don't know if I ever will have the opportunity, but I still think it would be a lot of fun if for nothing else than to fulfill a childhood dream.
