Like most people, I occasionally get into a financial bind where I don't have enough cash to cover my current expenses. It's usually not too big of a sum, so I'm often able to get a quick loan from friends or family. Still, it's pretty embarrassing for me when I can't pay my own debts on time. After all, I'm in my mid-thirties and should have reached some sort of financial stability by now. Maybe the best approach to my problems would be to apply for credit cards to use in these emergency situations.
The last thing I want to do is get into even more debt, so rest assured that I would use any card I get with caution. It wouldn't be for beer and pizza on a Friday night, or for a new DVD that I just have to have. If I apply for credit cards, it would be with the knowledge that they really can be useful in certain instances by giving me a bit of a crutch while I'm waiting for my paycheck to come in. I'd use my card for things like gasoline so I can continue to go to work, for groceries so my kids don't have to go to sleep on an empty stomach, or for the electric bill so we can have lights in the house. Seems reasonable, right?
I want to apply for credit cards online because it just seems easier to do things that way. For example, I've already done some checking around and there are certain websites out there that allow you to examine and compare the features, fees, and benefits of just about every card available. This saves a lot of time when trying to find the best offers, and I can even apply for credit cards right on the spot if I come across any that I like. And many issuers can provide instant approval to any applicants that meet the minimum qualifications. That's certainly much better than waiting for weeks and weeks to learn if I've been approved or not!
Since I have to divulge sensitive personal information when I apply for credit cards online, I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure that the website I'm applying from is completely legitimate and above-board. I ought to be able to verify the company's status with a phone call or email, or I can just run a few Internet searches to see what other consumers have to say about the place. Yes, it's kind of a hassle to have to take these extra steps, but it's much less of a headache than dealing with identity theft!
Once I apply for credit cards and receive at approvals on at least one or two of the applications that I submit, then I can stop worrying about being short on cash before each payday. I won't have to borrow from friends or family anymore, and as long as I pay my monthly statement in full each time, I'll be a lot better off than before.
