Block Unwanted Calls

Years ago, I added caller ID to my phone bill. I wasnt sure if it was going to be worth the extra few dollars I would be spending each month but it was a neat new invention and I wanted to be a part of it. Within the first few weeks, I couldnt help but wonder how I had managed to ever live without being able to block unwanted calls from my household. My caller ID was wonderful. It is now many years later and while the cost has nearly quadrupled for having the feature on my phone each month, there is no way that I would get rid of having that luxury.

Lets face it, theres nothing worse than having your day interrupted by the ringing of your phone and answering it only to find a telemarketer or a wrong number on the other end. With caller ID, I can block unwanted calls and no longer have to be interrupted. A year ago, my husband decided to upgrade to the talking caller ID. We are now the epitome of laziness. We dont have to get up walk to the phone to see who is calling. A rather annoying voice will tell us who is calling. If we dont want to answer the phone, we simply dont get up. If the person calling wants us to get back to them, theyll leave a message on our answering machine. Most times, unwanted calls dont leave messages. The best part about being able to block unwanted calls is not wasting anymore of my time. There is nothing worse than answering the phone to hear a telemarketer on the other end of the line. I hate to be rude, afterall, they are simply trying to make a living too, but I hate listening to them drone on and on about something
that I am not the least bit interested in purchasing. I will try to politely cut them off, but many times, I find that I just wasted too much of my day on that phone call.

There are quite a bit of companies that will offer you gadgets to block unwanted calls. Many of them are a small fortune. You shouldnt have to pay a small fortune just to block unwanted calls. Lots of sites will offer you a product that seems too good to be true. Make sure that before you make a purchase, you get a guarantee on the product. If there is a company offering a thirty day trial period, it certainly doesnt hurt to give it a test drive. And of course, if youre not currently able to block unwanted calls, dont buy some fancy gadget to block those calls from an unwanted call that you hesitated to answer in the first place.
