A great amount of the tourism in New York City revolves around Broadway shows and musicals. With all of the celebrities who are taking on the live stage, it brings even more fans to New York to see Broadway shows. When the media announced a few years ago that Julia Roberts was going to be live on stage, in New York, I didnt care what kind of play it would be or what the critics said. I simply knew that I wanted to be in the front row. And, I was. I spent a small fortune to be sitting in the front row and center, on opening night for Three Days of Rain. Was it the best Broadway show that Id ever seen? Not in the least. But, the three famous actors performing, live, a mere few feet away from me somehow made it the best experience that Ive ever had on Broadway.
A lot of celebrities have been able to pull in more of a crowd in recent years than the show would have on its own. Sure, people love to see Broadway shows, but people also love to see celebrities in person. Then, of course, there is the excitement of waiting outside of the theater after the show, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite actor dashing into a waiting car. I thought I was incredibly lucky to see her incredibly close from the front row, I didnt bother to stand outside for a quick glimpse. However, people go crazy waiting outside of Broadway shows.
For years and years, Broadway shows have remained constant in the Big Apple. Some of them run for only a few months, some musicals will run for several years. Being able to see some of the spectacular shows is an adventure that you will most likely, never forget. No, tickets are not cheap to purchase. There are websites that you can compare for tickets and seats; some prices will vary slightly. Typically, however, you just accept the fact that seeing Broadway shows is not an inexpensive outing for the day. Plus, if youre not a local to New York City, you need to account for transportation, food and any other form of entertainment that youll find. And trust me, youll find it all in the city. Ive never, ever known anyone to have gone to any Broadway shows and left incredibly disappointed. Ive heard people complaining about the prices of tickets and their seats, but overall, if a show has made it to Broadway, it is definitely something to see. If you ever have the opportunity to witness one of the many
Broadway shows, you certainly wont regret it.
